TERMS THAT HAVE A PARTICULAR MEANING

This refers to places outside Mecca, where Muslims gather before entering the Haram. Arriving at these meeting places, they prepare physically and spiritually to fulfill their sacred duty. These sites are determined by religious jurisprudence and each of them is known by the name of miqát. The same, Prophet has fixed them south, east and north of Mecca. THE GREAT PILGRIMAGE AND THE RESTRICTED PILGRIMAGE

1) Date of Hagg and 'Umra. The date on which the pilgrimage must be fulfilled is defined by God himself with these words: "the pilgrimage takes place in the known months."  Cheapest Umrah Packages UK These months are Shawwal, Dhu'l Qa'da and Dhu'l Hiya. The ulemas add that only the first ten days of Dhu'l Hiya are included. Thus, it is not allowed to enter the sacred state (ihrám) for the pilgrimage, before these months, that is before Shawwal.  As for the restricted pilgrimage, it has no set date during the year. The pilgrimage is the responsibility of the adult Muslim in full possession of his mental faculties. Only Muslims must fulfill it. There is no obligation, for children or madmen, according to the words of the Prophet, who said: "The pen (that is the wisdom that inspires human acts) - that writes the human acts dependent on Divine Justice - is withdrawn from three people: the sleeper until he wakes up, the child until he grows older and the madman up let him be cured of his mental illness. THE PILGRIMAGE (AL HAGG) AND THE RESTRICTED PILGRIMAGE (AL 'UMRA) IN THE LANGUAGE AND ISLAMIC JURISPRUDENCE

1) The literal meaning of the word Hagg, in Arabic, means "to go towards a certain end." In Islamic jurisprudence it means going to the Ka'ba, the Sacred Temple, and fulfilling the rites of the pilgrimage. 2) 'Umra is derived from the word I'timár, which means "visit". In Islamic jurisprudence it means "to visit the Sacred Temple", approaching God and agreeing, with the rules of which we will speak next. The difference between Hagg and 'Umra will be defined at the appropriate time. The pilgrimage has detailed implications that escape the attention of more than one reader.
