TERMS THAT HAVE A PARTICULAR MEANING
Before talking about the rites of the pilgrimage, there are
a number of terms that need explanation, such as Ihrám, Ifrád, Qirán and
Tamattu '. Cheap Umrah Deals UK
Ihrám: literally implies the sense of prohibition and
requires the abstention of all illicit things. The contrary of Ihrám is
Ihlal.
Ifrád, Qirán and Tamattu ': to apprehend the meaning of
these terms, it is preferable to mention that the different rites of the
restricted pilgrimage are the Ihrám, the circumvallation of the Ka'ba, the race
between As Safa and Al Marwa, and having the head shaved or cut and hair. With
these prescriptions, the Ihrám relative to the restricted pilgrimage ends and
the other restrictions are lifted. As for the Pilgrimage, its rites are: the
Ihrám, the circumambulation of the Ka'ba, the race between As Safa and Al
Marwa, the stop (wuqúf) on the mountain 'Arafat the ninth day of Dhul Hiyyá,
the launching of stones on the day of sacrifice (tenth of Dhu'l Hiyyá), as well
as other prescriptions that we will indicate later.
From what we have said we can extract certain differences
between the Pilgrimage and the restricted pilgrimage. The ceremonies of the
Hagg are more numerous than those of the 'Umra. Whereas in the restricted
pilgrimage the Ihram ends with the race between As Safa and Al Marwa. having
the head shaved or the hair cut, in the Pilgrimage it ceases after the stop on
the mount 'Arafat, fulfilling all the rites of the tenth day of Dhul'l Hiyya.
