THE GREAT PILGRIMAGE AND THE RESTRICTED PILGRIMAGE
1) Date of Hagg and
'Umra.
The date on which the pilgrimage must be fulfilled is
defined by God himself with these words: "the pilgrimage takes place in
the known months." Cheapest Umrah Packages UK
These months are Shawwal, Dhu'l Qa'da and Dhu'l Hiya. The
ulemas add that only the first ten days of Dhu'l Hiya are included. Thus, it is
not allowed to enter the sacred state (ihrám) for the pilgrimage, before these
months, that is before Shawwal.
As for the restricted pilgrimage, it has no set date during
the year. This is One of the differences between the Hagg and the 'Umra. It is
said that the prophet took her out, once, in Shawwal and once in Dh'ul Qa'da,
even though she declared that the 'Umra in Ramadan (fasting month) is similar
to the Hagg in regard to the blessings of God, without, therefore, saying that
it replaces him.
